Release
date: May 10th 2011
Synopsize:
The video starts with a young women who seems to be dead and another girl
kneeling over crying. The video then backtracks to her past, which shows us
that she’s basically homeless and she sells her body to feed her drug
addiction, then she overdoses.
The video is conceptual as it is based on mental concepts;
the actual artist of the song only appears in the video for a couple of seconds
and does not lip sync at all. The whole video is in black and white. There are
various camera shots used for example in the beginning the video starts off
with a close up of the first girl then goes into a mid-shot showing both
characters.
This video is different to other music videos as it shows the
struggle of the character which represents a lot of normal people unlike most
other videos which are normally about love, heartbreak and partying. Also this
video is different to other music videos as the audience sympathise with the character
in the music video. This gives me ideas for my own music video as I want the
video to be different to other music videos.
2nd Music
Video: Lady Gaga – Born this way
Release date: May 23rd 2011
Synopsize: This video does not has a storyline; in the video
lady gaga does weird dance routines and either wears loads of make up too look
like a skeleton or no clothes at all.
The artist of the song is in majority of the video and she
lip syncs most of the song. This video is also different to most other music
videos as most music videos either show a loved up couple or people partying.
This attracts the audience as the video is really intriguing as it different
and weird which draws people in to watch the video.
The music video starts off with a bird’s eye view of the
dancers and Lady Gaga walking towards the front. As lady gaga walks through the dancers a long
shot followed by a mid-shot is used to show their costumes also the dancers
kneeling. As the video goes on the camera switches from mid-shot to long shot
to show the dancing also bird’s eye view shot is used to show all angles of the
dance routine.
